The Gringo Guide to México – Its History, People, and Culture – Vol. I is a collection of twenty-eight articles previously published in my semimonthly column, The Page Turner, which appeared in the English language online newspaper, The Mazatlan Messenger. Those articles that were dated by subsequent events were updated at the time of the book’s publication.

Each of the twenty-eight articles run from 1,000 to 1,500 words. So, it is easy to read a couple of chapters and return later without having to recall where you ended reading so as not to lose any continuity.

The articles range from Benito Juarez – Mexico’s Liberal Leader to The Monarch Butterfly & The Law of Unintended Consequences. There also light hearted articles, such as Chiclets – The Candy Coated Gum and Finding a Margarita.
